Following her recent competitions, Lindsey Vonn finds herself at a crossroads, needing time to reflect on her future decisions. Vonn, who has long grappled with knee injuries, faced challenges in completing her ski races satisfactorily, finishing ninth in three recent events. Speculation looms about a potential immediate retirement from ski racing.

A communication from Megan Harrod of the U.S. Ski Team indicated that Vonn will take the next few days to mull over her options and process her thoughts before determining her path forward.

Having missed the entire season due to a left knee injury, Vonn displayed grit by racing with knee braces, despite previous injuries to her right knee during her illustrious career. The 34-year-old athlete had been eyeing retirement since December and aimed to compete in the upcoming major world championship in Sweden.

Vonn boasts an impressive tally of 82 World Cup victories, placing her among the greatest female skiers of all time. With just four titles separating her from the record-holder, Ingemar Stenmark, Vonn’s legacy stands as a testament to her resilience, having undergone four knee surgeries and dealing with a lateral collateral ligament issue in her left knee.
