Tsonga will undergo medical examinations on Saturday morning to determine his ability to compete on Sunday in the event that France pushes the tie to the reverse singles.After receiving advice from a team of doctors, Tsonga admitted that considering retirement against Cilic was a significant decision following his injury during the match.

Reflecting on the challenging situation, Tsonga highlighted the substantial pressure of performing in front of 25,000 spectators and millions of viewers watching the event on TV. Despite the setback, Tsonga expressed his desire to continue fighting until the end of the tournament.The injury-prone 33-year-old French player had previously faced a seven-month absence from the season due to a knee injury.
