Recently, Dion Phaneuf reached a significant achievement by playing his 1,000th NHL game. He was honored during a special pregame ceremony where he joined the ranks of the 326 players who have reached this milestone. The Los Angeles Kings surprised Phaneuf and his wife, Elisha, with an extravagant trip to Colorado to celebrate this momentous occasion.

Phaneuf played his 1,000th game while in Nashville and was recognized by the Los Angeles Kings during their first game back at STAPLES Center as they faced off against the Colorado Avalanche.

Throughout his career, Phaneuf has played for the Calgary Flames, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, and was acquired by the Los Angeles Kings in February 2018. He joined the Kings alongside Nate Thompson in a trade involving Nick Shore and Marian Gaborik.

Reflecting on his journey as a professional hockey player, Phaneuf expressed gratitude and emotion, acknowledging the remarkable moments and experiences he has had. He emphasized his appreciation for every minute of his career and expressed his desire to continue playing for as long as possible, understanding the value of the game.

Known for being a polarizing figure in the league, Phaneuf is both revered and disliked by fans and opponents depending on the team he represents. For the Los Angeles Kings, having Phaneuf reach the milestone of 1,000 games is a proud moment.
