According to a report by Deadspin, the Chicago Blackhawks have dismissed their head coach, Joel Quenneville. The team has a record of 6 wins, 6 losses, and 3 overtime losses this season, having faced a five-game losing streak.
Following Quenneville’s exit, Jeremy Colliton has been named as the 38th coach in the history of the franchise. Additionally, the Blackhawks have also decided to part ways with assistant coaches Kevin Dineen and Ulf Samuelsson. Quenneville led the Blackhawks for a decade, guiding them to 3 Stanley Cup championships and two conference finals.
The previous season marked the first time during Quenneville’s tenure that the team did not qualify for the playoffs.
