F1 racer Lewis Hamilton has won his fifth F1 World Championship on Sunday at the Grand Prix in Mexico. In Spite of coming in the fourth place in the Formula One race, Lewis Hamilton needed to finish the race at the seventh position or higher to get hold of the title. The only person who was standing in Hamilton’s way was Sebastian Vettel. Vettel had to win the title to keep his Formula One hopes alive. And he missed his chance by coming in second in the race.
After going through a rough time ever since Hamilton won his first F1 race back in 2008, he returned with a career resurgence from 2014. He returned to his greatness after getting coincided with a change in the scenario – leaving McLaren in 2013 and joining Mercedes. During this time he also aligned himself with his longtime friend and rival Nico Rosberg. The two acclaimed Formula 1 racers waged war upon one another in three years, and in 3 years Hamilton beat Rosberg twice in 2014 and 2015. The next year that is 2016, Rosberg finally beat Hamilton by a five-point difference in the final standing of the race.
Back in 2017, Hamilton got hold of his fourth F1 title and gained a new rival in Sebastian Vettel after Nico Rosberg reportedly announced his retirement. Like his preceding adversary, Lewis Hamilton made his way with back to back championship in these by fending off a consecutive second-place finish by the German racer Vettel, who bagged four titles from 2010 to 2014. Hamilton will turn 34 in January has not made any plans to call it all quits in the foreseeable future. On the other hand, Hamilton is only two titles away from matching the record that was set by the legendary F1 racer Michael Schumacher.
