In week 8, Blake Bortles may be starting up, but it has now been seen that Jaguars are pretty clear for Cody Kessler who is stepping in as the new starter for the team. On Sunday, the team has seen their third straight scoreless first half which is against the Houston Texans. In the second fumble by him during the third quarter, Blake Bortles was then seen to be put on the bench, and Cody Kessler takes that place.
When all the things are seen and taken into consideration, Kessler has performed well. He has gone for 21 for 30 for 156 yards with a touchdown as well as an interception in which the throw is not bad too. The head coach of Jaguars said on Monday that Bortles would remain as the starter during week eight which is against the Philadelphia Eagles. This game will be played in London which will be followed by a typical post-London game bye for Jacksonville. Even if for now Bortles is keeping up his job for this week, Kessler has been seen going to get some practice reps with the starters.
It has been said that if Bortles falters again, then Kessler will be then preparing to see the action again which is said to be happening on next Sunday in London. During week nine bye, it can be traded for a quarterback to a full shift to Kessler which is as the Jaguars who starts with the quarterback. In the year 2016, Kessler has played about nine games and started 8 for the Cleveland Browns which is as a rookie. The team is now looking to replace him during the next year, and this will hurt a little salary cap wise.
