Saquon Barkley has officially joined the New York Giants team. His agent, Kimberly Miale of Roc Nation, shared a photo on Twitter showing Barkley signing his rookie contract. She expressed her pride in him and excitement to see him grow and succeed.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the agreement on the contract terms was reached on Sunday. Barkley signed a four-year rookie deal worth $31.2 million, including a $20.8 million signing bonus and immediate payouts totaling $15 million, a significant sum skillfully negotiated by Miale. This deal makes Barkley the highest-paid running back in the NFL for the current season, earning an average of nearly $8 million per year.
Having been selected by the Giants as the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft, Barkley concluded an outstanding career at Penn State. As a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, he was an All-American in 2017 and contributed to the team’s victory in the 2017 Fiesta Bowl.
In 2017, he achieved over 1,000 rushing yards for the third consecutive season, totaling 1,271 rushing yards, 632 receiving yards, and 23 touchdowns.
The Giants have high hopes for Barkley to fulfill the potential he showed at Penn State and maintain the success of early running back draft picks.
At 21 years old, the rookie is already making strategic financial decisions, planning to follow in Marshawn Lynch’s footsteps when it comes to managing his endorsement money. Barkley aims to invest wisely, entrusting his finances to the right people to secure his future. He stated, “I don’t want to touch that. I want to invest it, put it in the right peoples’ hands and learn as I continue to make investments. And just live off the endorsement deals.”
