Brandon Browner, a former player for the Seahawks and Patriots, has been arrested on various charges, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Browner, who has had multiple run-ins with the law over the past year, was taken into custody in Azusa, California for offenses including burglary, kidnapping, violating a restraining order, and false imprisonment. Reports from NBC Los Angeles indicate that the restraining order was issued after the La Verne Police Department responded to a break-in at a residence where Browner was identified as the intruder who entered through a locked window.
Once inside the house, Browner allegedly physically harmed and threatened to kill the occupant, from whom he stole a $20,000 Rolex watch before fleeing. It was noted that Browner had no prior relationship with the victim.
Originally undrafted in 2005 out of Oregon State, Browner faced challenges with his performance as a defensive back. Although signed by the Broncos, he was placed on injured reserve before playing a game for Denver. After a stint in the CFL, Browner returned to the NFL with the Seahawks, winning a Super Bowl with the team before departing in free agency.
He later joined the New England Patriots, contributing to their victory over the Seahawks alongside Darrelle Revis. Browner, who is currently 34 years old, achieved a rare feat in NFL history by winning back-to-back Super Bowls with different teams.
Browner’s last NFL appearance was in 2015 with the Saints, and he has not played professionally since then.
