Kareem Hunt, a player for the Kansas City Chiefs, reportedly got into a physical altercation where he allegedly punched a man in the face at an Ohio resort following a verbal argument.According to TMZ Sports, a resort official in Put-in-Bay, Ohio confirmed Hunt’s involvement in the incident, but no further details were provided. The Kansas City Star stated that the Chiefs declined to comment on the situation.
The man involved in the altercation did not seek medical help and informed TMZ Sports that he does not intend to pursue legal action against Hunt. Reports also indicate that Hunt was not arrested in connection with the incident.
This incident sheds negative light on Hunt, who was previously in the spotlight for an altercation where a 19-year-old woman accused him of pushing her at a Cleveland hotel. Hunt’s companions present at the scene claimed the woman used a derogatory term towards Hunt and assaulted one of his female friends.
Having made an impressive debut in 2017, Hunt, 22, is gearing up for his second season in the NFL. In his rookie year, he led the league with 1327 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, in addition to 53 receptions and three receiving touchdowns.
The third-round pick from Toledo earned a Pro Bowl selection and finished second in the Offensive Rookie of the Year voting behind Alvin Kamara of the New Orleans Saints.
The NFL and the Chiefs are expected to investigate the matter. Despite his talent on the field, Hunt’s off-field issues are becoming a growing concern.
