New York Mets’ cut ties with Matt Harvey from its roster

On Saturday, Matt Harvey’s tenure with the New York Mets got over officially; he departed from the organization lacking allies as well as results both. The conversations with his fellow teammates, the team, and the league sources showcased that Harvey as a loner who did not have many people on his side while he played in his final game with the Mets. His personality was taken in the wrong sense by some people in the organization.

Since the beginning of the year 2016 season Harvey added a 5.93 ERA and even the coaches, given the task of fixing him, seemed pretty OK with him leaving the team.
The Mets had formally designated Harvey for assignment on Saturday for the game hosted against the Colorado Rockies.

Harvey, the right-hander, failed to produce and lacked allies for which he cornered himself from his spot at the roster spot. If the results are not there, then you need those who will fight for you. Several injuries beset Harvey following an amazing start to his career. Last month, he lost his spot in the rotation after four starts. It was on Friday that the team’s general manager Sandy Alderson announced that the team had decided to cut Harvey from the roster spot after just four bullpen outings and this did not come in as a surprise. It was just how they quickly cut the ties.

Harvey’s fellow teammates have spoken about Harvey in a positive way on record and have wished him all the luck, but on the contrary, not many of the teammates knew much about him. Several players could not name even one player they would have considered to be Harvey’s friend. Although his fellow mates did not dislike Harvey, he did not endear himself much to them the way other teammates have. Harvey will be selected by another team soon enough as he will be a low-risk addition, but his reputation may play a negative role as he is not considered to have a positive image in the clubhouse.
