The Texans are again back with another hard-hitting player for their star-studded defense. Houston has currently signed the former Cardinals defensive back, the famous Tyrann Mathieu. This was announced by the team on Friday night where the deal was finalized for 7 million dollars for one year. This is one of the most highlighted deals for one year announced ever.
Matthew was taken away from the Cardinals on Wednesday after getting the news of the paycheck from $19 million out of which he was due to collect under a 5 years $62.5 million contract that was signed by him in the year 2016.
Matthew is among the most versatile and instinctive bol hawks who has the potential to actually transform the back end of Romeo Crennel’s defense when is healthy.
Though initial start was a little slower than last season because of the disappointment he faced in 2016 performance, this 25-year-old smart player finally got back his playing capability with the strength he has and excelled in the November and December series to become a start player.
Matthew is considered as the rare defensive back that has the capability to play safely and cornerback, covering the top wideouts, tightens the ends, while also disrupting the quarterbacks as a timely Blitzer. Will be quite overwhelmed while lining up behind the front 7 with the star power of the three-time defensive player, J.J. Watt, pro bowler Jadeveon Clowney, edge rusher Whitney Mercilus, and Benardrick McKinney and Zach Cunningham.
Watt and merciless have recently recovered from the major injuries and now Matthew entering the mix as a wildcard entry; it will be a treat to watch the match that cannot be imagined. If these people play to their potential, they can actually exceed the Texans defense that finished number one for the first time in the year 2016.
