Cavaliers May Hope For an Early Return of Kevin Love

Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star forward Kevin Love, who had sidelined with a broken left hand since 29th January, stated on Friday that he might return sooner than expected. He said that he is hoping he could get back before the team’s stated eight-week recovery deadline expires.

Love said that one of the things he could do at present is kind of catch the ball, guide it and shoot it within 12-15 feet and that felt like something good to do other than running on the treadmill or running on the bike and so it is nice.
The player has missed a total of 12 games since breaking his hand against the Detroit Pistons. During that period, Cleveland entirely overhauled its roster by dealing away six players and by getting in four more at the trade deadline.

At present, the Cavaliers have a total of 21 games remaining in the regular season. If Kevin Love would beat his recovery timeline by two weeks, he would still have 13-14 games left to try to get acclimated to the Cavs’ new personnel before the beginning of the playoffs.

After Thursday’s 108-97 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Cavs dropped to 2-3 since the All-Star break.
Love is currently averaging 17.9 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Without his consistency as a No. 2 option, the egalitarian Cavs have struggled with managing themselves on offense and with picking up the new plays.

Love said that they were getting to the other side of the floor; they were penetrating on kick outs and were playing with great pace and that he knew that was all easy stuff to say but they were just going out there and playing basketball, and therefore he thought if they got back to that, it would only help them with all the new plays they have put in.
