After the Cavaliers’ 129-123 win over the Brooklyn Nets, James said on Thursday that with the long list of so many great players that have come through this league, in the history of this league, it is pretty cool for him to be the only person in the category. The player added that he took pride in his game and that he has always taken pride in being a triple threat since he started playing basketball and he never wanted to be labeled as a scorer.

LeBron also stated that he always wanted to be labeled as an all-around basketball player and that more than anything he gets more gratification out of the assists which meant a lot to him. The player also posted about the feat on Instagram posting a picture and captioning it that it was just a surreal and that knowing where he comes from, to accomplish a feat that has never been done before in the league was just a dream he grew up having. He hashtagged the text with “strive for greatness.”

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, not only this achievement was a first for the 33-year-old basketball player’s already star-studded career, but LeBron James also became the oldest player in the history of NBA to have averaged a triple-double in a calendar month consisting of at least 10 games played, the former oldest being Wilt Chamberlain.

In June, LeBron became the first player in the history of the league to average a triple-double for a whole NBA Finals in the Cavs’ 4-1 series loss to the Golden State Warriors.
James tied Michael Jordan for the fourth position with 20-plus points on Tuesday on the all-time list of 20-point performances with 926.
