Washington State quarterback Tyler Hilinski was found dead on Tuesday. The Pullman Police has discovered his dead body from his apartment. After the investigation, the police suspect that it was a case of suicide. The department stated that the police found a rifle next to Hilinski and they also found a suicide note from him.
As per the report, after he missed a team activity in the morning, police officers were called to the apartment very that everything is fine or not and found him dead in his room having a gunshot wound on his head. The rifle and the suicide note have clued that it is a suicide, the Pullman Police Department stated.
He joined the Holiday Bowl after injury of Luke Falk. It was his eighth match of the season.
Mike Leach, the head football coach at Washington State stat “We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Tyler’s passing.” He further stated that he was an amazing young man and always tried to give his bets while playing matches.
John Johnson, WSU interim athletic director, stated that Tyler was a great friend and teammate. The team will miss him. After hearing this sad news, the football team had assembled on Monday to offer him last prayer.
Reacting to this unfortunate incident, Roy Manning, former Washington State linebackers coach, tweeted that “Words can’t describe what I’m feeling right now. My heart is beyond saddened. Please pray for the family and all of us affected!”
Hilinski’s most memorable contribution to the team shown in the second week of the season. In that match, he helped Washington State to beat Boise State in triple overtime. He led the team from 21 points to 47 points and the team defeated Boise State by 47-44 points.
