The US national team faced a stunningly devastating result about the 2018 World Cup which was something very unexpected for the team and more so for the entire country. On the final day of the CONCACAF Hexagonal round, the team was eliminated due to the conjunction of the three results.
The teammates had to receive a fate of watching the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia from a TV screen in their home rather than being on the field. The evident drop down of the team started from the USMNT’s 2-1 loss at Trinidad along with a loss at Tobago which left them the only option of looking for a better result elsewhere.
The fate had something else designed for the team, and when the Panama and Honduras team won the game against Costa Rica and Mexico, the US team staggeringly dropped down to the fifth position in the overall rankings. This was undoubtedly a big downfall for the entire team as this was the first time the US team has failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup after the year 1986.
This was when the soccer sports didn’t have much value, but now soccer has become a religion for most of the fans in the country, and this news came as a big disappointment for them.
Now, the next focus for the American soccer team is the Qatar 2022 which requires a lot of planning to perform substantially in the upcoming World Cup. The team now holds a generation of players who are no more in a condition to play as they used to. This means the team needs to be swiped from top to bottom to make the team a more efficient one and get back in the game once again. Some positions are being planned to be changed starting from the coach Bruce Arena to players who will help improve the present case scenario.
