Khamzat Chimaev recently shared a photo on social media that has caused concern among his fans.
The UFC middleweight contender has been facing challenges in his recovery from his last fight against Kamaru Usman at UFC 294, where he sustained multiple injuries.
Chimaev suffered a torn ligament in his right hand and initially hoped to avoid surgery, but ultimately had to undergo the procedure.
He announced on Instagram Live, “I’m going to do a surgery, operation in one, two weeks. After that, do the recovery, come back, smash somebody.”
Following his surgery, the undefeated star shared a photo from the hospital, appearing almost unrecognizable.
He captioned the photo in his native language, expressing his desire to return to training and prove himself as the best, before ultimately deleting the post.
