This is very unfortunate news to share.

Cristin Coleman, the wife of Tim Lincecum, a pitcher for the Giants, passed away earlier this year, the team revealed on Thursday.

The Giants expressed their deep sorrow in a statement about Cristin Coleman’s passing, offering their sincerest condolences to Tim, Cristin’s family, and all those whose lives she influenced as a friend and educator.

“She was cherished by the Giants community, and her compassionate and authentic nature had a positive impact on those who had the privilege of knowing her during her time with us and Timmy,” the Giants expressed.

Coleman lost her life after bravely fighting cancer. The San Mateo Daily Journal reported that Coleman, who was a principal, passed away in late June while being surrounded by loved ones.

“Throughout her illness, Cristin never showed fear, anger, or self-pity, but she was profoundly saddened to be leaving us so soon and to cause us sorrow,” her parents mentioned, as quoted by the Journal. Randy and Sue Coleman, Cristin Coleman’s parents, described her as “a wonderful person who touched many hearts.”

Lincecum, at 38 years old, is a two-time Cy Young winner and a beloved figure who contributed to the Giants’ three World Series victories last decade.
