Brittany Wortmann, the wife of free agent MLB pitcher Mike Foltynewicz, has come forward with concerning accusations against her husband. In a post on her Instagram account, Wortmann disclosed that she was separating from Foltynewicz due to claims of abuse and infidelity.
In her statement, Wortmann shared that she had made the difficult decision to leave Foltynewicz after enduring years of abuse and uncovering his hidden extramarital affairs.
She expressed gratitude for shedding light on a troubled individual she could not mend and requested privacy and respect as she navigates through this challenging time with her children.
Wortmann emphasized that leaving the situation was in the best interest of herself and her kids, highlighting the sacrifices they made to support Foltynewicz in pursuit of a happy family life over the years.
Her post reflects allegations that Foltynewicz was unfaithful to her on multiple occasions, possibly up to eight times, including during her pregnancies with their children.
Foltynewicz’s most recent MLB appearance was in 2021 for the Texas Rangers, where he struggled with a 2-12 record in 24 starts, posting a 5.44 ERA and 97 strikeouts.
Throughout his career, he has accumulated 46 wins and 752 strikeouts with a 4.52 ERA, earning an All-Star Game selection in 2018 while playing for the Atlanta Braves.
Given the gravity of these accusations, Foltynewicz may encounter challenges in returning to the league as a free agent.
