In recent NHL games, the Colorado Avalanche is on a winning streak with five consecutive victories, the latest being a 4-2 win over the New York Rangers. The Avalanche took an early lead with goals from Mikko Rantanen and Cale Makar in the first period. Although the Rangers responded with a goal from Ryan Strome, Valeri Nichushkin extended the Avalanche’s lead in the second period with another goal.

The Rangers fought back in the third period with a goal from Julien Gauthier, narrowing the gap to just one goal. However, Nichushkin sealed the win for the Avalanche with a late goal, securing their fifth straight victory. Meanwhile, the Toronto Maple Leafs delivered a crushing 5-1 defeat to the struggling Edmonton Oilers, who have now lost six consecutive games. Despite being ahead by five games in their overall standing, Edmonton’s poor performance raises concerns. Auston Matthews scored two goals for the Maple Leafs in this match, with Morgan Rielly contributing a goal and an assist, helping Toronto secure their second consecutive win.
