Ichiro Suzuki Announces Retirement

CNN has reported that Ichiro Suzuki, a veteran in Major League Baseball, marked the end of his playing career. In a game on March 21st at the Tokyo Dome in Japan between the Seattle Mariners and the Oakland Athletics, Ichiro was in the starting line-up for Seattle.

Following the game, which ended with a heartfelt standing ovation for Ichiro as he walked off the field, his teammates showed their support by embracing him. It was then that Ichiro announced his retirement.

The 45-year-old outfielder started his American baseball journey with the Seattle Mariners in 2001, after a successful career in the Nippon Professional League in Japan that spanned nine seasons.

After his stint with the Mariners, Ichiro was traded to the New York Yankees in 2012. He later played for the Miami Marlins for two seasons before making a sentimental return to the Mariners in 2018.
