Manny Diaz, the creator of the turnover chain, has now taken over at Miami. The big question is whether his time as the head coach will lack excitement. Since December 30th, when he replaced Mark Richt, Diaz and his staff have been working hard to generate excitement around a team that finished last season at 7-6. Many had doubts about the Hurricanes’ prospects but Diaz aims to turn things around.

In 2018, Diaz made it clear to the players, staff, and recruits that this is a new era for Miami, symbolized by the hashtag #TNM. He kept his word by addressing the team’s offensive issues with the hiring of Dan Enos from Alabama as the offensive coordinator.

While Jalen Hurts chose Oklahoma, Diaz secured Martell from Ohio State to join Miami. Diaz cleverly used GIFs on social media to announce the news and build anticipation among fans over the 15 months.

As the current team prepared for the offseason, Diaz greeted them WWE-style to convey a strong message. In a recent interview, Diaz emphasized the importance of setting the tone for the players, making them feel like they are part of a revamped program on both offense and defense. Before joining Temple as the head coach, Diaz served as the Hurricanes’ defensive coordinator.
