Despite his connection to the Oakland Athletics, Murray missed the deadline to commit to the NFL draft, leaving the door open for potential negotiations with the baseball team. The Athletics have expressed a strong desire to retain Murray and have been granted permission to offer him a lucrative major league contract, altering their original agreement which included a $4.66 million signing bonus.
Should he choose to pursue playing both sports professionally, Murray will be entering a select group of athletes with such versatility.
