The Dallas Stars showcased a strong performance on Friday night, with their new defense and standout player Miro Heiskanen stepping up on offense. Despite being a rookie, Heiskanen scored two goals, leading the Stars’ defense with four goals in total to secure a 2-point victory over the Ottawa Senators.

Stars’ coach Jim Montgomery noted that the team’s defense had been struggling throughout the season, but Heiskanen’s performance was critical in securing the win. With four defensemen sidelined due to injuries, Heiskanen, just 19 years old, played a pivotal role in scoring goals from the left circle and right point during the game.

Montgomery emphasized the quick and accurate shots by Heiskanen, describing his goal-scoring ability as remarkable. Heiskanen’s skillful play left little time for the Senators’ goalie, Craig Anderson, to react to his shots.

Anderson, the Ottawa goalie, faced a barrage of shots from the Stars, saving an impressive 48 attempts, just one short of his season high. The game recorded a total of 54 shots on goal by Dallas, marking a significant offensive display for the team.

Reflecting on the intense game, Anderson acknowledged the Stars’ aggressive playing style, noting that they consistently aimed shots at the net, keeping him on his toes throughout the match.
