Brooklyn Nets’ Caris LeVert sustained an injury during the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, injuring his leg just 3.7 seconds before the end of the first half. The Nets announced that LeVert was assisted off the court and then transported to the hospital via ambulance for further evaluation.

Nets coach Kenny Atkinson described LeVert as the heart and soul of the team, making this injury a significant setback for the Nets. During the game, LeVert landed awkwardly on his right leg after colliding with Jeff Teague during an attempted block.

Following the incident, LeVert sat up briefly, examined his leg, and then lay back down on the court, visibly in pain. Before the injury, he had scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds. LeVert had been a standout player for the Nets this season.

LeVert had been averaging 19 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game in 13 games played. He was originally drafted by Brooklyn with the 20th pick in the 2016 draft and averaged 12.1 points per game in the 2017-18 season.
