Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is scheduled to fight Alfredo Angulo on December 1st after an 18-month layoff. The bout is slated for 10 rounds and will take place on the undercard of the WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The Chavez-Angulo fight will not be televised as part of the Wilder-Fury pay-per-view. However, it has been announced that this matchup will be part of a split-site Showtime doubleheader. It will precede the pay-per-view event and will run alongside the Stevenson-Gvozdyk lightweight title bout in Quebec. The fight will be aired on the network’s YouTube and Facebook platforms starting at 6:45 PM ET.

Chavez (50-3-1, 32 KOs) last fought in a one-sided loss to Canelo Alvarez in May 2017 in Las Vegas. He will be facing the experienced Angulo (24-7, 20 KOs) in what promises to be an intriguing matchup. After much speculation, the fight date was finally confirmed for December 1st.

Chavez Jr expressed his excitement for the fight, stating his joy at performing in front of Mexican fans in Los Angeles. He exuded confidence in his ability to take on any opponent in his weight class. Angulo, on the other hand, asserted his readiness for the bout, highlighting his rigorous training and confidence in his skills to secure a victory.
