Giants go all in for 2018 NFL Draft with Eli Manning and taking Saquon Barkley

The New York football Giants comes off with the three-win season, and at the same time they have kept out their 37-year-old quarterback. It posted a negative-142 point differential and is ranked 30th in DVOA and fired the coach and general manager which handed them the second-overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The must have been used to restart the franchise by drafting Eli Manning’s successor and can be used as trade bait to rebuild the roster riddled with holes by filling it with a plethora of picks. Giants utilized that pick to go all-in with Manning and three-win roster.

In the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Giants have selected by running back Saquon Barkley out of Penn State. Pete Prisco gave a C+ for the selection of the Giants. After the pick, the Giants new general manager Dave Gettleman revealed that he was not listening to trade offers for the No. 2 pick.

Gettleman told ESPN, “Basically, once Cleveland took Baker, I told our guys, ‘Don’t even waste your time. We’re taking Saquon, and we’re going to run.” For Gettleman, it is the second straight year and has picked a top-10 on a running back. It is like Christian McCaffery is before him and Barkley is the remarkable running back prospect who will be soon become an instant starter and have the potential to be a star in the coming years.

Tons of work is to be done to make it go in Giant’s favour, and this means the Giants will go even further away from a plan for life after 37year old Manning. This was the chance for them to build for the future and they decided to sacrifice the future.
