Cavaliers defeat Memphis, James got his triple doubles

Initially, it was a slow start for the Cavaliers against the Memphis. But, LeBron James’ 18 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists have led the team to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies by 112-89 scores. The match was played on Friday.  On the other side, George Hill contributed 18 points, Larry Nance Jr. scored 15 points and Jordan Clarkson contributed 14. It was the Cavaliers’ fifth win in the last six games. The only loss for the team was when they lost against the Washington Wizards.

Commenting on the Cavaliers’ adjustment to new teammates, Clarkson stated “It’s just us communicating, talking. That’s it. Coaches have us in early before practice running plays. We’re trying to get comfortable with everything still. Trying to get comfortable with all the calls. We’ve got a way to go, but we’re coming.”

From the side of Tyreke Evans and JaMychal Green had contributed 15 points each. Apart from that, Evan contributed 10 assists, Green grabbed 10 rebounds and Marc Gasol scored 14 points and nine rebounds.

During the starting time, the Cavs showed some tiredness, the reason behind this was maybe travel hangover and Thursday’s loss.

James stated “A lot of our guys were. I don’t want to say tired, but sleepy. For us to come out with the energy we had for the most part of 48 minutes is a good game for us.”

In the second half, Cleveland outscored Memphis by 58-40. This loss brings eight straight loss for the Grizzlies.  A change in defensive strategy gave the Grizzlies a lead of 13 in the first quarter, stated Tyronn Lue, coach of Cavaliers.

Leu stated, “During timeouts, I was telling the guys, especially at halftime, I don’t know how we’re up, but we’re up after playing a bad half of basketball.” The team played more defensively during the second half.
