Edgar Berlanga managed to secure a victory in last night’s match, even though he made a shocking move by trying to take a bite out of his opponent during the bout.

Berlanga emerged triumphant over Alexis Angulo through a unanimous decision in a super middleweight fight that headlined a TopRank card at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater on Saturday night. His unconventional move went unnoticed by the officials, leaving spectators and fellow boxers astounded.

In a scene reminiscent of Mike Tyson’s infamous ear-biting incident with Evander Holyfield in 1997, Berlanga was captured on camera attempting to bite Angulo’s left shoulder and then making an unsuccessful attempt to bite his left ear during the seventh round.

“He was throwing elbows. I was about to do a Mike Tyson on him,” Berlanga remarked. “He kept throwing his elbows, and I didn’t want to get cut.”

Despite his actions, Berlanga faced no penalties during the match. Surprisingly, the referee issued a warning to Angulo for punches aimed at the back of the head.

Reflecting on the fight, Berlanga stated, “I gained the experience I needed. Once again, my power was evident. I managed to hurt him a few times. I was cautious not to fall for any traps as I knew he was a formidable opponent.”

The incident sparked comparisons to Mike Tyson’s notorious ear-biting incident, receiving attention in the media.
