The final round of the 2021 Masters tournament might just be academic. While there’s absolutely no guarantee, there is certainly one player with the advantage heading into Sunday. That man is none other than Hideki Matsuyama. The Japanese superstar was spectacular after a rain delay during Saturday’s third round, shooting an absurd -7 65 to take a four-stroke lead heading into the final round. The play was halted for an hour, and it ceased momentum from the likes of Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.

It, however, didn’t stop any of Matsuyama’s, and in fact, it built for him after the delay came. He played his final eight holes of the day at -6, utilizing time to sit in his car and think about how he was playing. That now has him four shots ahead of Xander Schauffele, Justin Rose, Marc Leishman, and Will Zalatoris. Will he complete his first major win on Sunday, or will one of the chasing pack claw their way back into it?
