Mike Tyson has shown no interest in stepping into the ring with Evander Holyfield.

Holyfield’s team revealed that negotiations were in progress for a potential third bout between the former heavyweight champions at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in May. However, despite a $25 million guarantee on the table, Tyson’s representatives refused to agree to face Holyfield.

Holyfield’s manager, Kris Lawrence, expressed disappointment, stating, “We believed we had a deal sealed, but Tyson’s camp turned down all proposals. We engaged in negotiations sincerely, only to find out it was all a waste of time.”

Reports suggest that Tyson and Holyfield’s representatives had been extensively discussing the potential fight for months, with Holyfield’s team confident that an agreement was close.

Tyson and Holyfield have a history in the ring with Tyson losing to Holyfield on November 9, 1996, leading to the loss of his WBA Heavyweight title due to an 11th-round TKO. Their second encounter on June 28, 1997, is infamous for Tyson biting a part of Holyfield’s ear, resulting in his disqualification.

Despite their tumultuous past, the two boxing legends have reconciled in recent years.
