Quarterback Nick Foles opts to void his 2019 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite leading the team to its first ever Super Bowl win last year, Nick Foles appears likely to depart the team before the 2019 NFL season.
Philadelphia is expected to place a franchise tag on the quarterback. According to ESPN, they will then try and trade him. If they fail to do that, he will become a free agent. Foles’ contract decision comes after Philadelphia confirmed Carson Wentz would be the starting QB next season. The team made the move despite Foles leading the Eagles to a second straight playoff appearance after taking over quarterback due to Wentz suffering a season-ending injury.
